Where can you take your own packed lunch to eat indoors on a day out in Edinburgh City Centre?

Im a support worker for a lady who enjoys taking a packed lunch when she goes out for the day but finding it difficult to find places indoors (during cold weather) to eat it. If anyone has any ideas please let me know

If you want to be completely indoors your choices are limited. You could sit on a bench in a shopping centre – St James or The Gyle etc. You could visit the airport – just pretend that you are waiting for you gran to arrive from London!

Waverley Station has benches under cover, but these are still in an unheated area. West Princes Street Gardens has shelters. Go down the steps by the floral clock and go straight on and you will pass a couple of these. You will be under cover, but one side is open, so this is more for a wet summer day than for winter.

You could ask in a non-central tearoom or pub, who may let you eat sandwiches if you buy a drink.

If you client has a garden shed, you could just go there, after a walk round the block!
