Do snapdragons reseed themselves?
I just planted some snapdragons in my garden. After they’re finished flowering, do I need to collect the seeds and plant them, or will they just automatically reseed the soil like violas do?
Snapdragons reseeding themselves is a hit-and-miss proposition. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. Much better to collect seed, store in a dry place in an envelope when it ripens and sow in your greenhouse in March to plant out after danger of frost. Just remember, the plant that you enjoyed in your garden will in all probability not be the plant that comes from its seed.
